The Walter Kerr Theatre is owned by Jujamcyn Theatres. Named for the late drama critic, the Walter Kerr is another of Broadway’s intimate gems. Theater seats 947. As one of the Great White Way Broadway Theaters, this theater is located in the famous Broadway Theater District 10 block strip of Manhattan (from 53rd to 42nd streets,between 6th and 8th Aves) home to over 40 theaters.

Noted drama critic Walter Kerr demonstrates the unique characteristics of live theater as compared with film in this 1970 production. Scenes from five plays of varying styles are explored, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning "No Place to Be Somebody" (with its original cast). The other plays, all with top professionals, are Joseph Papp's production of "Richard III," Oscar Wilde's "The Importance of Being Earnest," the Open Theater's production of "The Serpent," and Aeschylus' "Prometheus."
