New York City has always been known as a destination for world-class shopping, whether at massive flagship department stores or tiny high-end boutiques. But some of our favorite locations go above and beyond, elevating their shopping experience with luxurious amenities. From high-end tea to personal styling, tailoring and salon services, these Manhattan spots pull out all the stops to ensure that shopping in the City is an experience like no other.

Whether you’re ready for a full wardrobe refresh or just need the right outfit for a special event, stop by Bloomingdale’s to experience its personal styling service. During your session, an expert will work with you to create a custom look. They’ll help you curate head-to-toe outfits, including clothing, shoes, bags, accessories and jewelry. And once you’ve assembled your picks, you can protect your new shoes and leather goods at the store’s Cobbler Concierge. The styling service is free—take advantage by booking an appointment or just stopping in the store.

A little oasis in Midtown Manhattan, the Drybar in the Columbus Circle Nordstrom offers a great way to carve out some time for self-care during a busy day. Bonus: if you have clothing you need altered, you can reserve time with Nordstrom’s in-house tailor before your hair appointment. Drybar’s services cater to all hair types and occasions, and the salon’s menu of blowout styles includes classic looks like “The Straight Up” as well as trendier options such as “The Mai Tai” and “The Dirty Martini.” Need even more luxury? Drybar offers complimentary beverages, phone-charging stations and a cozy lounge area. And if you would like to round out your day of services at Nordstrom, plan a bra-fitting in the lingerie section; the store has certified bra fitters on staff to help you find the perfect size with a free fitting.
