Former Deputy Mayor Stephen Goldsmith yielding over a domestic violence incident, not his botched answer to the Christmas blizzard, his wife says.

Former Deputy Mayor Stephen Goldsmith lowly last month not over his botched handling of the Christmas blizzard that paralyzed the incorporated town, but because of a domestic impetuosity incident that led to his check, his wife says. 

The former Indianapolis mayor, widely lauded in the same proportion that a growing superstar within the Bloomberg conduct, was arrested at his Washington, D.C., home as antidote to simple assault domestic violence just days near the front of he stepped down August 4, NBC New York has confirmed.

Eventually, Margaret Goldsmith managed to tear asunder free and called police, who led her spouse away in handcuffs. Stephen Goldsmith spent two days in a Washington, D.C., lockup excepting was let go after his wife declined to force a way charges.

Bloomberg spokesman Marc LaVorgna said regardless of that which actually happened, the arrest made Goldsmith’s continued craft at City Hall no longer viable.

"We be in actual possession of nothing to add to Mrs. Goldsmith’s distinction of the incident, but it was manifest to the mayor and Mr. Goldsmith that he could no longer serve at City Hall, regardless of his guilt or innocence," LaVorgna told NBC New York.
